Palm Beach Cardinals News Release
Jupiter, FL- The Fort Myers Miracle pounded the Palm Beach Cardinals tonight at Roger Dean Stadium by a score of 5-1. Allan De San Miguel's three-run blast off of Scott Schneider (2-7) in the second inning broke things wide open for the Miracle and sent the Cardinals to their third consecutive loss.
Schneider struggled with his command, allowing four runs on six hits and walking four in three innings of work. The right-hander has lost his last two decisions and has not won a game since June 28th.
Miracle starter Bruce Pugh (7-10) allowed only one run on three hits and struck out four Cardinals over six innings.
C.J. Beatty accounted for the only Palm Beach run with a home run in the fifth inning off of Pugh. Beatty has hit safely in four of his last five contests.
Palm Beach and Fort Myers will continue their three-game series tomorrow at Roger Dean Stadium. Deryk Hooker is the probable Palm Beach starter and will look to snap the Cardinals three-game losing streak. The Cardinals currently lead the FSL South Division by one game over Bradenton, who were rained out tonight in St. Lucie. Tomorrow's first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
