
Minnesota Wild Recalls Gustafsson and Blum

Des Moines, IA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher announced on Monday the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled goaltender Johan Gustafsson (pronounced - Joe-han) and defenseman Jonathon Blum from the Iowa Wild, Minnesota's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.
Blum, 24 (1/30/89), skated in four games with Minnesota after being recalled from Iowa on Dec. 30 and averaged 12:13 in time on ice per game. He was sent back to Iowa on Saturday and picked up an assist in a 1-0 win at home over Lake Erie. The 6-foot-1, 188-pound native of Long Beach, Calif., has recorded 22 points (7-1522) and 20 penalty minutes (PIM) in 95 career NHL games with Nashville and Minnesota. He has tallied 18 points (4-1418) in 32 games with Iowa this season.
Gustafsson, 21 (2/28/92), is 7-7-1 with a 2.75 GAA, a .910 SV% and one shutout in 16 games with Iowa this season. The 6-foot-2, 199-pound native of Koping, Sweden, went 20-13-0 with a 1.70 GAA, a .929 SV% and four shutouts in 33 games for Lulea HF in Sweden's Elite League last season. Gustafsson was selected by the Wild in the sixth round (159th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He has yet to make his NHL debut.
Iowa will play three straight games on the road, all in the Lone Star state. The Wild visits the Texas Stars on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m. The team also plays a pair of games at San Antonio prior to returning home on Friday, Jan. 31 for a 7:05 p.m. game with the Milwaukee Admirals. Friday's game on Jan. 31 against Milwaukee marks Military Appreciation Night, presented by the Marines. The game will feature various in-game elements to honor those who serve our country. The first 2,500 fans to the game receive a Wild camouflage hat, compliments of 92.5 KJJY. The game is also a $2 Beer Night, where fans may purchase $2, ten-ounce domestic drafts through the first period of play, presented by 100.3 The Bus. After the game, fans are invited to bring skates for a Postgame skate opportunity on the Wells Fargo Arena ice.
