Minnesota United FC News Release
GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Minnesota United on Saturday night returns home to Allianz Field following a two-game extended road trip, hosting Sporting Kansas City for the second of the three-scheduled regular-season fixtures between the two sides.
MNUFC enters the match having lost to LAFC on the road on Wednesday night. Before that, the Loons played to a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Colorado Rapids, where Sang Bin Jeong scored a brace and Tani Oluwaseyi continued his scoring form at the front half of the 2024 campaign.
Sporting Kansas City comes to Allianz Field on a six-game losing streak, most recently falling to the Vancouver Whitecaps. Last time in Saint Paul, the Loons defeated SKC by a 2-1 score, which was the first game of Sporting's current losing run.
Both sides are looking to bounce back from losses suffered this midweek - where a win for the Loons can keep them near the top of the Western Conference table, and a victory for SKC can end and ugly run of form and potential set the squad on a new path.
