The Story:
On Wednesday, Facundo Torres scored his second goal for the Lions in 2024 MLS regular season play and his fifth across all competitions. Torres' tally was his 32nd all-time, giving him sole possession of second place on the Lions' all-time scoring chart.
Saturday's match will be the second time this season that the Lions and Red Bulls meet. The teams played to a 1-1 draw in Orlando back in March with the Lions' goal coming off a New York own goal by Noah Eile. Their previous meeting at Red Bull Arena in 2023 resulted in a 3-0 win for Orlando City.
When they take the pitch Saturday, it will mark Orlando's sixth game in 28 days, with four of those games being played away from INTER&Co Stadium. The Lions have picked up seven points over those four road matches.
Quote of the Week:
"I think we had a good game, and [Red Bulls] are coming from a good game as well against Charlotte [FC]. When we played them, I thought it was a good performance and we have already that context. At this moment, just going one game at a time, preparing our mind and our phases tomorrow to try and get a result in New York, that for us is a priority."
- Head Coach Oscar Pareja
