Minnesota United FC News Release

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - After experiencing two straight losses, the Loons officially bounced back on Saturday night. MNUFC scored three goals and secured three points in their 3-1 win over the Colorado Rapids. The Loons will need to maintain their momentum as they enter the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup against Forward Madison FC on Wednesday night. Minnesota have only ever played the USL League One team once before in 2019, a historic meeting that marked the first time an MLS team had ever played in Mad City. In that friendly, Mason Toye scored a brace to give MNUFC a 2-1 win over the Flamingos. Now, three years later, the Loons are back with the hopes of repeating history in their first-ever competitive match against Madison.
