Austin FC News Release
Austin, TEXAS - Austin FC announced today that defender Freddy Kleemann successfully underwent a procedure performed by Austin FC team orthopedist Dr. Doug Elenz to repair an ACL rupture in his left knee, an injury which he suffered while on loan with Birmingham Legion FC.
Kleemann will begin the rehab process at the St. David's Performance Center and will be unable to play for the remainder of the 2022 season. His return to play will be determined by how he responds to rehabilitation.
Austin FC originally selected Kleemann, 23, with the 11th overall pick in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft from the University of Washington. He made three (3) appearances for the Verde & Black during the Club's inaugural season.
