
Minnesota Recalls Schroeder and Bickel

Des Moines, IA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Wednesday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled defenseman Stu Bickel (BIH-kuhl) and forward Jordan Schroeder (SHRAY-duhr) from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Bickel, 28 (10/2/86), has totaled three assists and 12 shots, leading Iowa with 30 penalty minutes (PIM) in nine games this season. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound native of Chanhassen, Minn., totaled an assist, 19 PIM, seven hits and five blocked shots in five preseason games with Minnesota, spending time as both a defenseman and forward. He's totaled nine assists and 157 PIM in 67 career NHL games, adding 16 PIM in 18 playoff contests, all with the New York Rangers (2011-13). Bickel signed as a free agent with Minnesota on July 1.
Schroeder, 24 (9/29/90), leads Iowa in points (11), assists (7) and shots (37) in 12 games this season.The 5-foot-9, 176-pound native of Prior Lake, Minn., has totaled 15 points (6-915) and 53 shots in 56 career NHL games, during parts of two seasons with the Vancouver Canucks (2012-14). Schroeder was originally selected by Vancouver in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He signed as a free agent with the Wild on July 11.
Iowa plays in Milwaukee on Wednesday prior to returning home for ALS Weekend on Nov. 14 and 15 at 7 p.m., welcoming the Oklahoma City Barons. Along with ALS Weekend, the Iowa Wild celebrates Veterans Weekend with specialty camouflage jerseys for both games, in appreciation of our veterans who have served the U.S. sponsored by ALS of Iowa. Friday is also a $2 Beer Night, sponsored by 100.3 The Bus. As part of $2 Beer Night, fans may purchase 10-ounce domestic beers through the first period of play. On Saturday night, the first 2,500 fans through the gates receive will be handed an Iowa Wild camo hat, sponsored by Iowa National Guard. After the game, the Wild will hold a live jersey auction, with the proceeds benefitting the ALS Association - Iowa Chapter.
The Iowa Wild 2014-15 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team's 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
