
Former Crunch Captain Zenon Konopka to Appear at Toyota Frozen Dome Classic

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Former Syracuse Crunch captain and fan favorite Zenon Konopka will return to Syracuse as a special guest when the Syracuse Crunch host the Utica Comets at the Toyota Frozen Dome Classic on Saturday, Nov. 22.
Konopka will sign autographs in the Carrier Dome back-ice area, as well as make an appearance at the Crowne Plaza Syracuse pregame party. The pregame party, which is open to the public from 3 to 6 p.m., will lead up to the Toyota Frozen Dome Classic's main event, Crunch vs. Comets at 7 p.m. The Crowne Plaza pregame event will include $4 Molson Canadian and Miller Lite pitchers paired with bowls of chili, hot dogs and hot chocolate. The Crowne Plaza Syracuse will feature a dome hockey table in the lobby and an ice bar outside.
Konopka, 33, played for the Crunch during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons. As captain during the 2007-08 season Konopka led the Crunch to the second round of the Calder Cup Playoffs after a 20-0-0-3 record in the club's final 23 regular season games. Currently a free agent, Konopka has played 346 NHL games with the Anaheim Ducks, Buffalo Sabres, Columbus Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators and Tampa Bay Lightning.
Tickets to the Toyota Frozen Dome Classic are on sale now and range in price from $20 to $50. Discount ticket prices are available for groups of 15 or more people. Tickets can be purchased either in person at the Syracuse Crunch office located at the War Memorial Arena on 800 South State Street in Syracuse, by calling (315) 473-4444, at the Carrier Dome Box Office and at all Ticketmaster outlets.
