
Crunch Sign Lynch to PTO, Return Costello to Florida

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Crunch have signed forward Kevin Lynch to a professional tryout contract Crunch general manger Julien BriseBois announced today. Additionally, the club has reassigned forward Jeff Costello to the ECHL's Florida Everblades.
Lynch, 23, has six points (1g, 5a) in nine games for the Everblades. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound forward joined Florida this season after totaling 35 points in 63 ECHL games between the Toledo Walleye and the Evansville Icemen in 2013-14. Lynch appeared in 168 games over four years at the University of Michigan totaling 72 points (35g, 37a). The Grosse Pointe, Michigan native was a second-round selection, 56th overall, of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Costello, 23, made his AHL debut with the Crunch Oct. 25 at Portland. The 6-foot-0, 206-pound forward is scoreless in two games with the Crunch. Costello played four seasons at the University of Notre Dame, captaining the team as a senior in 2013-14 and posting 22 points (13g, 9a) in 40 games for the Irish. During his collegiate career Costello totaled 82 points (41g, 41a) in 145 games. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Costello was drafted in the fifth round, 146th overall, by the Ottawa Senators in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
The Syracuse Crunch will host the Utica Comets in the Toyota Dome Classic at Syracuse University's Carrier Dome on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014. Tickets to the Toyota Frozen Dome Classic are on sale now and range in price from $20 to $50. Discount ticket prices are available for groups of 15 or more people.
