
Penguins Assign D'Agostino and Hartzell to Wheeling Nailers

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned defenseman Nick D'Agostino and goaltender Eric Hartzell from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), it was announced today
In two appearances this season for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Hartzell has gone 2-0-0 with a 2.92 goals against average and a .882 save percentage. Hartzell, a 25-year old second-year pro, split the 2013-14 season between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Wheeling. He went 10-8-1 over 25 games with the Penguins, registering a 2.48 GAA a .901 save percentage, three shutouts and was also named AHL Goaltender of the Month for January. In 14 contests for Wheeling last year, Hartzell posted a record of 8-5-1 with a 3.13 GAA, a .900 save percentage and one shutout.
D'Agostino, 23, has skated in one match for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season. In 2013-14, the second-year defenseman collected 10 points (1G-9A) and 15 penalty minutes in 48 games for the Penguins. He also posted three assists in seven contests with the Nailers. A native of Bolton, Ontario, D'Agostino was a seventh-round pick by Pittsburgh (210th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
The Penguins have two home games this weekend when they battle rival Lehigh Valley Friday night at 7:05pm and then host Syracuse Saturday night.
