Reno Aces News Release

METAIRIE, La.-Pitching just outside his hometown, Aces starter Wade Miley dealt a complete-game three-hitter and added three hits of his own at the plate to vault Reno to a 4-1 victory over the New Orleans Zephyrs Saturday at Zephyr Field.

Miley (4-1)-a Hammond, La., native-allowed a run and two hits in the first inning, but settled in after that to hold the Zephyrs to no runs and just one hit the rest of the way-retiring 22-straight at one point. Offensively, Miley recorded three singles and scored a run. The victory snaps a five-game losing streak for the Aces and evens the series with New Orleans at a game apiece.

Despite Miley's outing, the game remained in doubt for much of the evening. Reno's offense would change that in the sixth, though, pushing across three runs in the frame on the strength of a two-run triple by Evan Frey and an RBI double off the bat of Andy Tracy.

Miley's final line included just a run on three hits with nine strikeouts and just one walk over nine innings of work. The performance marked Miley's second-career complete game and the fourth in the history of the Aces franchise.

Saturday's loss fell to Zephyrs starter Chris Sampson (7-1), who surrendered four Reno runs on 10 hits over 5.1 innings of work.

Tracy joined Miley with three hits on the night, while Ryan Langerhans collected a double and a single. All nine Aces starters reached safely in a 12-hit Reno attack.

The Aces and Zephyrs hit the third leg of this four-game set on Sunday at Zephyr Field. RHP Barry Enright (8-3, 5.10 ERA) toes the slab for Reno, while New Orleans will counter with LHP Darin Downs (1-1, 3.29 ERA). First pitch is set for 4 p.m. PT, and all the action can be heard live on Fox Sports 630 AM or by visiting www.RenoAces.com.

The Aces return home on Saturday, Aug. 20 for a four-game series against Tacoma at Aces Ballpark. Tickets for all Aces games, including the 2011 Pacific Coast League playoffs, are available today at RenoAces.com, the Aces Ballpark box office or by phone at (775) 334-7000.
