Dayton Dragons News Release

DAYTON, OH- The Dayton Dragons, in conjunction with the Dayton Development Coalition, will host a "Milestone Night" when the Dayton Dragons host the Clinton LumberKings on Sunday, July 15th, at 7 p.m.

While deployed overseas in recent years, many local servicemen and women missed out on the opportunity to celebrate special milestones-their child's birthday, their anniversary, and Mother's and Father's Day-with their loved ones. On Sunday, July 15th, the Dayton Dragons and the DDC will give those men and women the chance to enjoy the company of their families in traditional American fashion - at a baseball game.

"Missing out on holidays with family is one of the greatest sacrifices of the military," Robert Murphy, Dragons team president, said. "The Dayton Dragons hope that our ‘Milestone Night' will in some way make up for the time that was missed while the servicemen and women were overseas protecting our freedoms."

Local Airmen and military members from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and their families will come to a pre-game dinner in the Fifth Third Field conference room at 5:00 p.m. Heater, Gem, and some Dragons players will be stopping by to greet the families who get to celebrate their missed milestone in its own unique way. The honorees will also be recognized for their service during an inning break, and one special serviceman or woman will be interviewed live on the radio during the game.

Individuals and groups seeking information about Dayton Dragons lawn tickets, the season ticket wait list, sponsorship opportunities or booking a Dragons speaker are encouraged to contact the Dragons by calling at (937) 228-2287, or find the Dragons on the Web at daytondragons.com.
