Encarnacion Added to Dragons Roster

Dayton, OH - The Cincinnati Reds have assigned C Fernando Encarnacion to the Dayton Dragons active roster. Encarnacion comes to the Dragons from the Sarasota Reds where he was on the disabled list after being transferred to that club from the GCL Reds. Encarnacion was signed by the Reds in June of 2004 as a non-drafted free agent and spent the 2004 and 2005 seasons with the DSL Reds. In 2006, Encarnacion spent the entire season with the GCL Reds and appeared in 20 games posting a .333 average with three doubles and five runs batted in. Encarnacion will be in uniform when the Dragons open an eight game home stand, beginning with a four game series versus the Clinton Lumber Kings Friday night at Fifth Third Field. With the roster move, the Dragons active roster it is back to the 25 max limit.
