Mike Accursi Named Offensive Player Of The Week

BUFFALO, NY (February 4, 2009) --- The National Lacrosse League announced today that Buffalo Bandits forward Mike Accursi has been named the Offensive Player of the Week.

Accursi had his highest offensive output of the season last week against Edmonton as he registered seven points (5+2). Accursi scored the first two goals of the game and added three in the fourth quarter on the way to a game high seven points. He is now third on the Bandits with 17 points (10+7). Accursi was acquired from Edmonton last season for Dan Teat, Buffalo's second round pick in the 2008 NLL Entry Draft and Buffalo's first round pick in the 2009 NLL Entry Draft.

This marks the fourth-straight week that the Bandits have had a player of the week in at least one category. Ken Montour collected back-to-defensive player of the week awards while Mike Thompson was given the honor last week. Mark Steenhuis was the first Bandits player to be named Offensive player of the Week after he put up 12 points (7+5) against Rochester, Steenhuis was also named the Overall Player of the Week for his performance.

The Bandits will play their third-straight road game Friday against the Philadelphia Wings at 8:00 p.m. Fans can watch the game on the NLL Network at NLL.com by following the link on www.bandits.com or catch the action on WWKB 1520 AM.

Buffalo's next home game is Saturday, February 14 against the Toronto Rock at HSBC Arena.
