Portland's Matt Disher named Player of the Week

Portland's Matt Disher has been named Overall and Defensive Player of the Week. The Jax goaltender was instrumental in Portland's 9-8 overtime victory on the road at TD Banknorth Garden in Boston. Disher logged all 61:13 of the contest, denying 46 of the 54 shots fired on goal by the Blazers.

Buffalo's Mike Accursi has been named Offensive Player of the Week. Accursi led the Bandits with five goals and two assists in their 13-8 win against Edmonton at Rexall Place. He also added two loose balls in what was his strongest offensive output of the season.

San Jose's Curtis Hodgson has been named Transition Player of the Week. Hodgson accumulated eight loose balls to go along with two goals and two assists in San Jose's 16-6 home victory over the Edmonton Rush on Saturday. Hodgson was also perfect on his only faceoff attempt of the evening.

Colorado's Matt Danowski has been named Rookie of the Week. The Duke product led the Mammoth with three goals en route to Colorado's first home victory of the season, beating New York by the final of 12-8. The three goals mark the first career hat trick for Danowski, who also added two loose balls.

The Weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers and Head Coaches of the league's 12 teams.
