Colorado Mammoth News Release

DENVER - Colorado Mammoth rookie forward Matt Danowski has been named National Lacrosse League Rookie of the Week. The honor, announced today by the league office in New York, is reflective of play last weekend.

Danowski, the Mammoth's first round selection (7th overall) in this year's entry draft, scored a career-high three goals to lead his team past the New York Titans on January 31. In only three games played this season, Danowski has scored five goals, including one game winner, while scooping up eight loose balls in his transition to the indoor game. Colorado finished the month of January with a record of 2-2.

Danowski was the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Player of the Year in 2007 and 2008 while at Duke University. He was also a four-time All-American.

The Mammoth travels to St. Paul this Saturday, February 7 to take on the Minnesota Swarm. The next home game for Colorado is Saturday, February 14 when the Calgary Roughnecks visit Pepsi Center in a 7pm contest.
