
Miguel Montero Named to MLB All-Star Game

MISSOULA, Mont. - National League All-Star manager Mike Matheny announced today that Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero will replace Yadier Molina of the St. Louis Cardinals on the National League roster for the 85th All-Star Game.
Montero is now an All-Star for the second time after his 2011 Midsummer Classic appearance. His first All-Star game in 2011 also happened to be in his home ballpark, Chase Field. This season Montero is hitting .265 with 11 home runs, 52 RBI and 33 walks. Montero leads all MLB catchers in RBI and innings caught. He joins former Osprey alum and current teammate Paul Goldschmidt on the senior circuit's roster.
"Miggy" played for Missoula in 2002 and 2003 and appeared in 109 games. In 2003, Montero batted .301 with 32 RBI for the Osprey.
The 2014 All-Star Game will be played at Target Field on Tuesday, July 15 and will televised by FOX Sports.
