After riding strong pitching to a 4-1 win over Ogden last night, the Voyagers aim to claim this four-game series tonight at Centene Stadium.

STONE GROUNDS RAPTORS

The Voyagers made it two out of three over Ogden Thursday night, riding solid pitching to a 4-1 victory. Dane Stone led the way for Great Falls, tossing six scoreless inning and allowing just two hits while striking out seven. The Voyagers gave him his first run of support thanks to an error in the fourth, then added to it on a Zach Fisher RBI single in the fifth. The final two runs came in the seventh when Chevy Clarke, Mason Robbins, and Jake Peter   put together three straight hits.

THE STREAK CONTINUES

In his final at-bat Thursday night, infielder Jake Peter collected an RBI double to extend his hitting streak to 11 in a row. Hitting .444 (20-45) during this streak, Peter has boosted his season average to .420, which is second in the Pioneer League. The Mason City, Iowa native has also reached at least once in all 18 games, and his on-base percentage is .494, which is the best mark in the league.

NOT HOME SWEET HOME

Despite taking two of the first three in this series, Great Falls has continued its offensive struggles at Centene Stadium. In this series, the Voyagers have managed nine runs on 17 hits so far, lowering their overall season batting average to .250 and runs per game average to 4.5. At home, Great Falls is now hitting just .224 as opposed to .277 on the road. Run scoring has been down at home as well, with the Voyagers scoring 5.7 per game on the road, but just 3.5 per contest at home.

STONE-ING THE COMPETITION

Righty Dane Stone continued his string of recent dominance, giving Great Falls six scoreless frames while collecting his second win of the year. The Miami, Fla., native has now delivered three straight quality starts, and struck out at least seven in all three outings. His outing Thursday also lowered his season ERA to 1.53, which is second in the league to teammate Chris Freudenberg (1.35).
