
Midland Defeats Naturals in Extra Innings

SPRINGDALE, Ark. -The Northwest Arkansas Naturals rallied from a 5-2 deficit to tie the game in the seventh inning, but the Midland RockHounds scored the winning run in the 12th inning to defeat the Naturals 6-5 on Friday.
*Dusty Colem*an began the Midland half of the 12th inning with a single off of *Cole White*, who had just entered the game. Coleman stole second base and advanced to third on a wild pitch. White walked *David Freitas* to load the bases with one out and set up a double play, but *Darwin Perez* hit a sacrifice fly to left fielder *Whit Merrifield*, scoring Coleman for the winning run.
Northwest Arkansas took the lead in the first inning. Leadoff batter *Brett Eibner* was hit by RockHound starter *Josh Bowman *on the game's first pitch. After Bowman walked *Orlando Calixte*, Eibner advanced to third on a flyout by *Rey Navarro* and scored on a groundout by *Mitch Canham*.
Midland tied the game in the bottom half of the inning. *D'Arby Myers*reached on a one out single and advanced to second on a Calixte error. Myers scored on a single by *Anthony Aliotti*.
The RockHounds scored four runs in the second inning on doubles by *Jeremy Barfield*, *David Freitas, Chad Oberacker*, and Aliotti. Midland hit seven doubles during the game. Midland added another run in the third inning as *Miles Head* hit a one-out double and scored on a single by Freitas
The Naturals got a run back in the fifth inning as Calixte reached on a leadoff triple and scored on a Navarro groundout. Northwest Arkansas tied the game in the seventh. Eibner reached base on his first hit as a Natural, a single to right field. After Eibner stole second, Calixte bunted Eibner over to third base, with Eibner scoring on a Navarro single. Following a walk to Canham and an error that allowed *Yem Prades* to reach, *Manny Pina*hit a two-run single that plated Canham and Navarro and tied the game.
*Angel Franco* was three-for-five with two doubles and a single, while Calixte went two-for-four with a triple, single and run scored.
White takes the loss for the Naturals, giving up one run on one hit in 2/3 of an inning. *Jeff Urlaub* is the winning pitcher, scattering two hits in two shutout innings.
The Naturals and RockHounds will conclude the three-game series tomorrow at 7 p.m. *Yordano Ventura* will start for the Naturals and will be opposed by *Carlos Hernandez*.
