
Midfielder Saphir Taider Called up by Algeria

MONTREAL - Midfielder Saphir Taïder has been selected by the Algerian national team to take part in two international games in Blida, Algeria, including a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against The Gambia on Friday, March 22, and then a friendly game against Tunisia on Tuesday, March 26.
Taïder, 27, has scored five goals in 44 games with the Algerian national team, making his international debut in a FIFA World Cup qualifier against Benin, recording one goal and one assist, on March 26, 2013. He helped Algeria reach the round of 16 at the 2014 World Cup and the quarterfinals at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
