Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) hits the road for the first time in 2019 to take on Eastern Conference side New York City FC on Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium. Last year, the two sides battled to a 2-2 draw in the first and only regular season meeting on May 13 at Banc of California Stadium.
Kickoff this Sunday is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. PT and will be televised live on FS1, and broadcast on ESPN 710 AM and 980 AM "La Mera Mera.'
Last weekend, the Black & Gold earned its second victory of the season - a 4-1 win over 2018 MLS Cup finalists Portland Timbers. With the victory, LAFC became just the second-ever expansion team in MLS history to open its first two seasons with back-to-back wins.
LAFC is currently tied for first place in the Western Conference with a 2-0-0 (6 points) record, while NYCFC (0-0-2) sits in sixth place in the East with 2 points from its first two matches.
