
Middle Children to be Celebrated at Jetblue Park on Wednesay

FORT MYERS, Fla. (August 11, 2014) - Were you ever stuck as all-time catcher? Did your brother or sister get to play shortstop, while you were cast away in left field? Were you an "important team member" while your sibling won All-Star honors? Well, you might be a middle child and Wednesday, August 13 is your night with the Miracle at JetBlue Park!
A day constantly ignored or forgotten, National Middle Child's Day is on Tuesday, August 12 and in true middle child fashion, the Miracle are celebrating the "forgotten child" a day later on the most unremembered night of the week, Wednesday.
The Miracle are teaming up with the International Middle Child Union and founder Bruce Hopman. "We'll take any attention, any time we can get it," said Hopman. "This kind of recognition is a giant leap forward for middle child-kind."
At JetBlue Park on Wednesday, middle children will the honored guests of the Miracle. All middle children will receive free admission. A middle child will finally get to be the star of the show, ignoring the criticisms and commands of their siblings while throwing out a first pitch. All middle children in attendance will receive special recognition during the game.
"Wednesday night is perfect for this," said Miracle General Manager Andrew Seymour. "It's like the forgotten middle child of the week!"
The International Middle Child Union will be making a special edition membership card that will be available for free. The card entitles members "to all rights and privileges of I.M.C.U. members, which are none."
Wednesday's game is a doubleheader with the St. Lucie Mets starting at 5:05 p.m. The day will feature two seven inning games with the second beginning approximately 25 minutes after the completion of game one. Gates open at 4 p.m.
For parents and non-middle children, tickets are available by calling the Miracle offices at (239) 768-4210 or by ordering online at www.miraclebaseball.com. Fans can also purchase tickets at JetBlue Park at the team store beginning at 9 a.m. on game days. JetBlue Park will host the final 10 games of the Miracle home schedule and is located east of I-75 on Daniels Parkway.
