
Michael Lahoud Called up to Sierra Leone National Team for 2014

Chester, Pa. (Aug. 28, 2013) - Philadelphia Union midfielder Michael Lahoud has been called up to the Sierra Leone National Team for a 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifying match Sept. 7 against the national team of Equatorial Guinea, the club announced today. Lahoud and his squad will take on Equatorial Guinea at Brookfields National Stadium in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
The 26-year-old midfielder will depart for international duty Sept. 1 - a day after the Union's home match versus Montreal Impact - and return after the Sept. 7 match. He will miss the Union's road game against the San Jose Earthquakes Sept. 8.
This marks Lahoud's first-ever national team call up to his native Sierra Leone. Lahoud has played in eight matches this year for the Union, starting in two.
