
Red Bulls Tim Cahill and Roy Miller Called up for International Duty

HARRISON, NJ (August 29, 2013) - New York Red Bulls midfielder Tim Cahill (Australia) and defender Roy Miller (Costa Rica) have been called by their respective national teams for upcoming international matches. Cahill will join the Australian National Team in preparation for their upcoming friendly with 2014 World Cup host Brazil (Sept. 7 in Brasilia, Brazil) while Miller was called into camp, as Costa Rica has CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers against the United States (Sept. 6 in San Jose, Costa Rica) and Jamaica (Sept. 10 in Kingston, Jamaica).
This past summer, Cahill played a major role in helping the Australian National Team qualify for the 2014 World Cup. On the international level, Cahill has earned 63 caps for his country while scoring 28 goals. After joining the Red Bulls during the 2012 season, Cahill started in 12 regular season matches and two postseason games, notching a goal and three assists that year. Cahill has been influential for the Red Bulls in his first full MLS campaign and has started in 21 regular season matches this year. The 2013 MLS All Star is tied for the most goals on the team with seven and has also added three assists.
Miller is the longest tenured Red Bull, having been with the club since 2010. This season, Miller has tallied 17 appearances and earned one assist. Over his four-year career in MLS, the Costa Rican has amassed 96 appearances, 87 of which were starts, and 12 assists. Miller has earned 44 caps for Costa Rica, scoring one international goal. The Ticos are currently in second place in CONCACAF qualifying with 11 points, two points shy of leader, the United States.
