Miami FC Ready for U.S Open Cup

MIAMI, Fla. - The 102nd Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup kicked off yesterday as NPSL and Open Division teams competed in the first round of the tournament.

This is the first U.S. Open Cup for the Miami FC, as the club is set to enter the competition in the third round on June 1st.

The first round match of interest to the Miami FC was between local clubs the Miami Fusion and Boca Raton FC. After a quite first half, the two teams would score five goals with the Fusion coming out on top 4-1 in overtime.

The Fusion now move on to face, USL side, the Wilmington Hammerheads in the second round on May 18th. The winner of this match will advance to face the Miami FC in the third round.

The Miami FC will be waiting intently to see who their first-ever opponent will be, with sights on a deep run in the tournament.
