Mets Recall INF Josh Satin; Place Outfielder Mike Baxter on DL

FLUSHING, N.Y., June 3, 2012 - The New York Mets today announced the team recalled infielder Josh Satin from Buffalo (AAA) of the International League and placed outfielder Mike Baxter on the 15-Day Disabled List with a displaced right collarbone and fractured rib cartilage next to the sternum. Satin will wear #3 and will be available for tonight's game.

Satin, 27, hit .274 (49-179) with three home runs and 15 RBI in 54 games for the Bisons this season. Playing mostly first base, the native of Hidden Hills, CA, added 10 doubles and 23 walks, while striking out 52 times. He also appeared in games at second base and third base. The 6-2, 200-pounder made his major league debut with the Mets last season and hit .200 (5-25) with two RBI in 15 games.

Baxter, 27, hurt himself making a catch against the wall on Friday night during Johan Santana's no-hitter against St. Louis. The outfielder hit .323 (21-65) in 40 games for the Mets.
