Norfolk Tides News Release
The Orioles today announced that they have selected the contract of RHP STEVE JOHNSON and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk.
Johnson, 24, is 1-3 with a 2.62 ERA (44.2IP, 13ER) in eight games (seven starts) for the Tides. Johnson was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 30, 2009 with INF JOSH BELL in exchange for LHP GEORGE SHERRILL.
To make room for Johnson on the 40-man roster, LHP ZACH BRITTON was transferred from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. Britton has been on the disabled list since March 26 with a left shoulder impingement.
