Syracuse Mets News Release

Allentown, PA - Thursday night's game between the Syracuse Mets and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs was suspended because of rain. Syracuse had a 1-0 lead when the game was stopped. The game will be finished as part of a doubleheader when the Mets host the IronPigs during a four-game series from August 26th to August 29th. The exact date and time of the doubleheader will be announced at a later date.

Syracuse took its 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Jeff McNeil, on a rehab assignment from the New York Mets, was hit by a pitch to lead off the game. McNeil stole second base as Arismendy Alcantara struck out. Two batters later, Danny Espinosa hit a two-out single to left field, scoring McNeil for the 1-0 advantage.

The Mets return home to begin a seven-day homestead on Friday night with the first game of a three-game series against the Rochester Red Wings. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
