Mendoza Homers in Sens 6-5 Loss

Drew Mendoza homered and Manuel Geraldo hit a two-run triple but it wasn't enough in the Senators 6-5 loss to the Somerset Patriots Sunday afternoon. Harrisburg took a 2-0 lead in the first inning but Somerset came right back in the bottom of the first, plating three runs, forcing the Sens to play catch-up the rest of the afternoon.

On Capitol

Hill Tim Cate started for the second time this week going four innings for a second time. He allowed five runs including three in the first inning on a pair of home runs. Pearson McMahan went two innings in relief of Cate and allowed a tie-breaking home run to Diego Castillo before retiring the final four batters he faced. Alberto Baldonado pitched a scoreless seventh, pitching around an error. Gabe Klobosits pitched a perfect eighth including two strikeouts.

With the Gavel

Harrisburg plated five runs which matched their season high. Drew Mendoza hit his first double-A home run in the third. Manuel Geraldo tripled in two, tying the game in the fourth inning. Osvaldo Duarte led off the second with a double but was left stranded.

Filibusters

Harrisburg committed three errors in the game for the third time. The Sens turned a double play, their eighth of the season. Harrisburg hit for the cycle as a team with a single in the first, double in the second and a home run and triple in the fourth.
