
Mejia Promoted to Bisons, to Pitch Wednesday

The Buffalo Bisons today announced that RHP JENRRY MEJIA has been promoted to the Herd from Double-A Binghamton. He is scheduled to start for the Bisons on Wednesday, May 30 against the Columbus Clippers at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.).
Mejia, 24, returns to the Bisons for the first time in over a year. The righty had Tommy John surgery on May 16, 2011 after making five starts with Buffalo to begin the 2011 campaign. In those outings, Mejia was 1-2 with a 2.86ERA and 21 strikeouts in 28.1 innings of work.
Mejia began the 2012 season on the Bisons disabled list and missed the first 32 games of the year before being activated and transferred to Single-A St. Lucie to continue his rehabilitation. Mejia was 1-0 with a 2.45ERA in two starts with St. Lucie and 0-0 with a 5.63ERA in two starts with Double-A Binghamton. In his last outing, May 24 vs. New Britain, Mejia allowed four runs in five innings with five strikeouts.
