May 26, 2012 - International League (IL1)
Pawtucket Red Sox News Release

The Pawtucket Red Sox scored 7 runs on 7 hits in the bottom of the eighth inning to turn a 5-1 deficit into an 8-5 lead and, eventually a win at McCoy Stadium. The key blows were a pinch hit, RBI double for Nate Spears, a two run double for Pedro Ciriaco and a titanic, three run home run by Ryan Lavarnway. It was a deep blast onto the berm in left field. It was Lavarnways' first homer in 99 at bats, his third of the season.

Daisuke Matsuzaka looked sharp, working five shutout innings against Toledo. Dice-K allowed only one hit. Matsuzaka was very efficient, throwing 56 pitches, 38 for strikes. Junichi Tazawa wasn't very effective, allowing 5 runs in two innings of relief. Tazawa blew the lead, yet earned the win to improve to 2-1. Mark Melancon picked up his eighth save in as many tries.

The series wraps up on Sunday night at 6:05 p.m. The first place PawSox (31-19) send Brandon Duckworth (5-1) to the mound to face Thad Weber (3-2).
