Motor City Mechanics News Release
DANBURY, CT-The Motor City Mechanics tie the game late to force a shootout and earn a point as they fall 4-3 in a shootout tonight at the Danbury Ice Arena.
The Trashers took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission and built on that out of the gate in the second period. Just 1:18 into the second they had mounted a 2-0 lead. The Mechanics would respond when Greg Bullock cut the lead in half when he fired a shot to make it 2-1.
Danbury would retake their two goal lead, again early in the period, when they scored just 2:13 into the period. Scott Dobben would score with just under eight minutes to play and then the Mechanics Ryan VanBuskirk scored to tie the game and force a shootout.
In the shootout only one Mechanic would score as Vlad Serov tied the shootout in the third round. Danbury scored on their first attempt and third attempt as that would be all they would need to earn the victory.
Rod Branch started his league leading 41st game of the season and made 23 saves in the shootout loss.
The Mechanics remain on the road for two more games. The Mechanics face-off against Kalamazoo on Friday February 3rd and face Missouri on Saturday February 4th.
