DANBURY, CT--Despite surrendering a two-goal lead in the final period, the Danbury Trashers were able to defeat the surging Motor City Mechanics with a 4-3 shootout win thanks to an outstanding effort from Sly Daigle and a game-winner from Jamie Thompson before a crowd of 1,941 on Tuesday night at the Danbury Ice Arena.

Danbury would add to their lead at the 1:18 mark of the second period as David Hymovitz scored a power play goal from Jeff Daw and J.M. Daoust. Motor City's Greg Bullock cut the Trashers lead in half with a breakaway goal at the 8:10 mark, as Motor City outshot the Trashers 20-8 in the second period.
