January 31, 2006 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Game Preview The Kalamazoo Wings and the Flint Generals are ready to wake up early and play hockey. Today is the first of three matinee Kids Days for the K-Wings, who are 2-2-0 lifetime in the morning starts. This will be the second time that the K-Wings and Generals have met on a school day; last year, the K-Wings lost 7-4 during the 2nd Annual KPS DAY at Wings Stadium.
Kalamazoo is poised to snap their two-game winless streak. The K-Wings enter the game in second place in the Central Division and are eight points behind the Muskegon Fury for the division's top spot. On the season, the K-Wings are the 4-0-0 against the Generals, which includes two victories at Perani's Hockey World & Event Center.
While the Generals are still basking in the glow of becoming just the fourth (Muskegon, Quad City, Rockford) UHL franchise to record 500 wins in their franchises history with a victory over Roanoke Valley last Friday, Flint is also geared to making a second half push to the playoffs. The Generals, who are in fourth place in the Central Division are currently three points out of the playoffs.
