Mechanics return home with a win in Missouri!

ST. CHARLES, MO-Adam Edinger nets his second hat trick of the season and Vlad Serov nets two goals as the Mechanics defeat the Missouri River Otters 6-2 tonight at the Family Arena.

David Herring gave the Mechanics the 1-0 lead at 8:55 on the power play when he buried a loose puck near the crease. Greg Bullock and Ryan Van Buskirk tallied the assists.

Missouri would tie the game in the second before Serov would net his two goals in the second period, his 6th and 7th of the year. The period ended with the Mechanics leading 3-1.

In the third period Edinger outscored the River Otters 3-1 by himself to net his 30th, 31st and 32nd goals of the season, and second hat trick of the season. With Edingers first goal, he became the second Mechanic in franchise history to achieve the 30 goal marker.

Rod Branch again made the start in net, his 14th game in a row and 43rd of the season. For the game Branch made 31 saves to earn his 21st victory of the season.

The Mechanics finally return home on Wednesday February 8th to face the Rockford IceHogs at 7:30 p.m., Muskegon on February 10th and Flint on February 11th for the second annual Pink at the Rink.

The "Name that Line" contest is underway as many entries have already been submitted. Fans have until midnight on February 28th to submit their entries to name the Edinger, Szabo, Gretzky line. The winning name will be revealed on March 3rd during the first intermission.
