Mallards Raise $42,460 for Genesis Medical Center

Moline, IL-The Quad City Mallards announced today that the team's 2006 jersey auction has raised $42,460 for Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus. The money will be used to purchase ultrasound equipment designed for use in emergency departments that allows for quicker diagnosis of trauma patients.

The jerseys featured a race car theme and were auctioned off following the Mallards Saturday night game vs. Rockford. Team captain Patrick Nadeau's jersey fetched the highest price. The seventh-year Mallard raised $3,300 for Genesis after performing a skit with Mallards goaltender Jason Tapp.

Other highlights included a wrestling skit featuring Joe Pace, Jonathan Tremblay and Chad Woollard. The trio of Mallards combined to raise $5,500 for their jerseys.

The Mallards next game is next Friday night in Rockford for a 7:00 p.m. rematch with the Hogs.
