Danbury Trashers News Release
DANBURY, CT -- Kris Tebbs was woeful in his first five games against Danbury this season, as he posted an 0-5 mark, but on Saturday night he saved 32 of 34 shots as Adirondack defeated the Trashers 3-2 before 4,070 at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
Adirondack scored quickly to start the game as Hugo Belanger netted his 19th of the season on the powerplay to give the Frostbite a 1-0 lead by the 2:29 mark. It was the only goal of the opening frame as the Trashers were outshot 12-7.
Mike Berry then started off the second quickly as he redirected a pass from Belanger past Daigle at the 1:21 mark to give Adirondack a 2-0 lead. Danbury outshot Adirondack 12-7 in the second, but were unable to get on the board.
J.M. Daoust then netted his 18th of the season to finally give the Trashers a goal as he fired in a shot past Tebbs at the 6:25 mark of the 3rd on the power play to cut Adirondack's lead to 2-1. However, Berry scored his second of the night at the 8:59 mark to once again put the Frostbite lead at two goals.
With Adirondack on the power play following a Daoust interference penalty, Ryan Barnes scored his 4th of the season as he knocked the puck off of Tebbs' legpad at the 17:29 mark to pull Danbury to within a goal, but the Trashers were unable to muster the game-tying goal as Tebbs stopped David Hymovitz in the final moments to seal the win.
Daigle stopped 24 of 27 shots in the loss as the Trashers fall to 27-12-8 for the season. Adirondack has won six straight including three over Danbury as they're now just five points behind the Trashers with five game in hand.
