
Mechanics fall to the IceHogs 7-2

ROCKFORD, IL-The IceHogs explode for four goals in the third period and take the game 7-2 tonight at the Rockford MetroCentre in front of 4,208 fans.
The IceHogs took an early 2-0 lead, however, the Mechanics responded with two goals of their own to tie the game early into the second period.
David Herring and Adam Edinger scored for the Mechanics. Edinger also assisted on the Herring goal to net two points on the night.
After that it was the IceHogs who took control as they would reel off five straight goals and hold on to win.
Rod Branch made the start in net and compiled 22 saves before giving way to Bill Ruggiero who made 4 saves on 4 shots in the relief appearance.
Mike Burgoyne set a new career high in points (15) with the assist on the Herring goal.
