Fraser, MI – The Motor City Mechanics tallied more than forty shots on goal for the third consecutive game as they took a 4-2 win over the Richmond RiverDogs.

David Hymovitz opened the scoring four minutes into the game but rookie David Bonk answered quickly on a shorthanded strike, with assists from Matt Hunter and Chris Chelios to even the score at one. Richmond took a 2-1 lead on a goal by Brett Cross at the 9:43 mark. Tim Laurila scored his second goal of the season to knot the game at two.

Dan Price broke the tie 5:05 into the second, with assists going to Blair Manning and Rick Smith. 15:32 into the second period, with the game tied at two, David Brosseau of Richmond was awarded a penalty shot. Mechanics netminder Rod Branch made the stop to preserve the lead. Sean Avery scored his fourth goal as a Mechanic to boost Motor City's lead to 4-2. Neither team scored in the third period. In goal, Branch made 32 saves for Motor City, while Brent Belecki knocked aside 43 shots for Richmond.

The Mechanics hit the road following tonight's action and travel to Danbury, Connecticut to take on the Trashers this coming weekend.
