Charlotte Knights News Release

FORT MILL, S.C. - The Charlotte Knights powered their way to an 8-5 win over the Pawtucket Red Sox at Knights Stadium. The Knights hit three home runs in the game.

Charlotte third baseman Dallas McPherson led the way with two home runs in the game. McPherson hit a two-run homer in the fourth to tie the game and the very next inning gave the Knights the lead with another two-run blast. It was the seventh time this season that a Knights player has hit two home runs in the game.

After Pawtucket tied things up with runs in the sixth and seventh innings, McPherson almost went deep for a third time. He drove a fly ball to the wall in centerfield, but it didn't have enough to give Charlotte the lead. However, the next inning the Knights would use the long ball as Andrew Garcia hit a two run homer to give Charlotte the lead.

The Knights would add another run in the eighth inning when Eduardo Escobar doubled and then scored on an infield single off the bat of Tyler Kuhn.

The Knights and Red Sox continue the four-game series tomorrow at 7:15 PM at Knights Stadium. LHP Doug Davis will start for Charlotte and RHP Tony Pena Jr. will start for Pawtucket.

The Charlotte Knights are the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. For ticket or event information, please contact the Knights front office at (704) 357-8071 or (803) 548-8050 or visit our website at for more information.
