Third baseman Dallas McPherson, who leads professional baseball with 40 home runs, grabbed three honors, including Most Valuable Player, in the Albuquerque Isotopes' annual End of Season Awards Ceremony held before the ‘Topes' home season finale against New Orleans Sunday evening.

McPherson was voted MVP by his teammates after posting a .278 batting average this season with a team-high 89 runs scored and 91 RBI entering Sunday's play. The slugging infielder also garnered PNM Power Hitter of the Year honors as well as the annual Fan Favorite Award as voted on by Isotopes fans at the ballpark and on-line. McPherson currently also ranks second in the PCL in slugging percentage with a mark of .619 and third in extra-base hits with 63,

Pitcher of the Year accolades went to right-hander Frankie De La Cruz, who earned the award by vote of his teammates after entering Sunday's start with a 12-7 record, the most wins ever racked up by an Isotopes pitcher in team history.

Mr. Hustle and Best Defensive Player was awarded by the Isotopes to their teammate Chris Barnwell, who spent much of the year playing an excellent shortstop while also adding a .276 average with 50 runs, 16 stolen bases and was one of three representatives on the PCL's Triple-A All-Star squad until he had to depart the team for family reasons.

A very special Most Community-Minded accolade went to Manager Dean Treanor, as awarded by the Isotopes front office, for his tireless work in the Albuquerque community. From hospital and school visits, to clinics, to his very own "Treanor's Troops" program where the skipper talks to at-risk kids, Treanor has been an important part of the community in each of his five years at the helm of the ‘Topes.

The Isotopes home season concludes Sunday, but the team will head out on the road for eight games to finish out the 2008 campaign. Albuquerque opens a four game set in Nashville on Monday against the Sounds with left-hander Chris Seddon (9-9, 5.21) taking on Sounds lefty Chris Narveson (6-12, 5.14) in a 5:00 PM MT start from Greer Stadium.
