Angels Recall Bulger, Option Morales to Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY (August 24, 2008) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has recalled right-handed pitcher Jason Bulger and optioned infielder Kendry Morales to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Bulger, 29, has appeared in 35 games for the Bees this season, owning a 4-0 record and a team-low 0.66 ERA with 15 saves. He began the 2008 season with the Angels, registering a 7.94 ERA in five games. The Lawrenceville, Ga. native and 2008 PCL All-Star joined the Angels in a trade from the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2006.

Morales, 24, has appeared in eight games for the Angels in 2008, hitting .250 with two singles. In 70 games for the Bees in 2008, he hit .338 with 16 doubles, 14 home runs and 58 RBI. Originally signed by the Halos in 2004, the Cuban native hit .294 with four home runs and 15 RBI in 43 games for the Angels in 2007.

The 77-57 Salt Lake Bees play the team's final regular season home game today against the Tucson Sidewinders at 2:05 p.m.
