
McGinley Commits to UNB for 2023/2024 Season

The Broncos are proud to announce that graduating defenceman Sam McGinley has committed to play post-secondary hockey at the University of New Brunswick in USports.
The Calgary, Alta. product came to the Broncos during the 2019/2020 season after a trade with the Regina Pats. From that point, McGinley would go on to play 184 games in the blue and green. He scored 20 goals and added 56 assists for 76 points in his Bronco career that spanned over parts of four seasons. His career best came in the 2022/2023 season when he tallied 37 points in 61 games with the Broncos.
Early in his career, McGinley played 11 games for the Pats, notching one assist.
Prior to his time in the WHL, McGinley spent two seasons at the Edge School in Calgary playing for the Elite 15's team and the U18 Prep team. He played over 70 games in an Edge uniform before making the jump to the WHL.
The UNB Reds are part of the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) Conference. The Reds play out of Frederiction, New Brunswick.
