#PortlandToThePros: Winterhawks Showcase Revamped Alumni Wall in Locker Room
August 23, 2023 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Portland Winterhawks News Release
The Winterhawks are proud to show off the #PortlandToThePros legacy with a brand-new locker room wall dedicated to our NHL alumni.
Earlier this year, the team renovated the existing NHL alumni wall in the players' lounge with a fresh design matching the club's modern branding and taking the display to another level. The new wall recognizes all 132 former Winterhawks who have gone on to play in the National Hockey League, listing each player next to the club they made their debut with while highlighting Portland's Stanley Cup winners and Hockey Hall of Famers in the center of the piece.
Since the club's establishment in 1976, the Winterhawks lead the Western Hockey League with 148 NHL Draft picks to go with the 132 former Hawks who have laced up their skates in the NHL. Now, current players will see those names listed every day while picturing their own appearing on the wall just a few years down the road.
Check out the video above, or scroll down for photos of the new display!
