St. Paul Saints News Release
ST. PAUL, MN (August 19, 2008) - People have long talked about "Minnesota Nice," but how about St. Paul Kindness? The St. Paul Saints, who have been recognized for their exceptional customer service since the club's inception in 1993, will kick off kindness weak with the help of St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman.
Mayor Coleman will attend the Saints vs. Lincoln Saltdogs game at Midway Stadium on Tuesday, August 19 and will read a proclamation declaring the first week of each month "Kindness Week" in St. Paul. It's an effort to make St. Paul the kindness city in 2008.
The Kindness Campaign encourages people to participate in random acts of kindness whether it's helping a friend, neighbor or total stranger. The random acts of kindness will help St. Paul become an even friendlier place and is sure to put a smile on the faces of people in the city.
The campaign is the brainchild of Lisa Cotter Metwaly, owner, along with her husband, of the Q Kindness Café where patrons are surrounded by its credo of kindness perpetuating kindness.
The proclamation is just the beginning of the city kicking off kindness. The Campaign will launch its "Conversation Cafes," held August 30 - September 4, to discuss current events in a fair and kind format and to also complement the heightened public discourse of the Republican National Convention.
All season long at the Saints Fan Services Booth fans have been able to obtain information on helping make St. Paul the kindest city in the world with the plan being for all of us to practice random acts of kindness.
The Saints are also asking fans to help out with kindness on August 19 by performing one random act of kindness at the ballpark and out in the community. Game time is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. and tickets are available by contacting the Saints box office at 651-644-6659 or visiting saintsbaseball.com.
