Fort Worth 3, Grand Prairie 1 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

In the first game of a doubleheader, Fort Worth got another superb outing from starter Pedro Flores to top Grand Prairie 3-1. Flores pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing just one earned run and striking out four to collect his 13th game of the season against just three losses. Cats 2B Jake Gautreau went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored to lead the Fort Worth offense. Fort Worth closer Jon Hunton finished the game with a flourish, striking out all three men he faced in the final inning. It was his 22nd save.

Lincoln 6, St. Paul 4

Lincoln 3B Shea McFeely turned in a big performance with a home run and bases clearing double to lead the Saltdogs past St. Paul 6-4. McFeely finished 2- for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI. 1B Dustin Yount and C Shawn McGill each had two hits and a run scored in the contest. Lincoln starter Ryan Trytten struck out six in six innings of work to get the win and even his record at 5-5. Matt Hammons struck out four batters in 1 1/3 innings to pick up his fifth save. Saints starter Charlie Ruud had a rare poor outing as he surrendered five earned runs on seven hits over five innings pitched and dropped to 12-4.

Sioux Falls 9, Wichita 8

After watching an 8-1 lead trimmed to 8-7, Sioux Falls scored a run in the top of the ninth inning on SS Tim Hutting's sacrifice fly and hung on to beat Wichita 9-8. The insurance run proved critical as Wingnuts C Jeff Stevens hit a solo homer off Canaries closer Chris Regas in the bottom of the ninth. But Wichita could not get the equalizer and Regas earned the save, his 29th of the season. Three Wichita players homered and Canaries 3B Grant Richardson struck his 14th long ball of the campaign. Sioux Falls C Paul Smyth had a big game with three hits and two RBI.

Sioux City 10, Pensacola 2

HR: SXC- Alex Llanos (9), Walter Young (5)

Sioux City pounded out 22 hits in a 10-2 rout of Pensacola. Four Explorers had three hits in the contest including 2B Alex Llanos and DH Walter Young who each homered. RF Juan Senreiso drove in three runs and LF Chad Gabriel went 4-for-5 with an RBI. Sioux City starter Cameron Cheek struck out eight in seven innings and improved to 6-3 with the win. Pensacola's John Webb got knocked around as he surrendered 13 hits in 4 2/3 innings. His record now stands at 8-9.

El Paso vs Shreveport (Cancelled - Rain)

The completion of the August 18th suspended game and the regularly scheduled game for tonight has been cancelled due to rain. Due to the fact that they do not meet again during the season, the games will not be rescheduled.
