Macon Mayhem News Release
Another tough one goal loss for the Macon Mayhem. On Saturday night it was the Knoxville Ice Bears defeating the Mayhem 3-2 at the Macon Coliseum.
The loss was the sixth time this season the Mayhem dropped a one goal decision. Macon is now 3-3-3 in one goal games this year.
Knoxville's Brad Townsend had the only goal of the first period. The Mayhem took the lead on second period goals by Connor Toomey and Shawn Skelly. But the lead lasted just less than two minutes as Andrew Bonazza tied the game for Knoxville with 3:05 left in the second period.
Early in the third period Knoxville left winger Corey Fulton scored to break the tie. The Mayhem couldnt get the equalizer in spite of out shooting Knxville 11-6 in the thrid period and 35-22 on the game.
The Mayhem plays two home games next weekend on Friday and Saturday. Both are against Fayetteville and both start at 7:30 p.m. Lend a hand month rolls on as the Mayhem continues collecting Toys for Tots and gently used clothing for Macon Outreach. By donating a toy or coat, adults receive a $2 discount on their ticket purchase (discount does not apply to kids' tickets or end zone tickets. Maximum $2 off of each adult ticket).
