LAST TIME OUT: The Mayhem's last game was at home vs. the Columbus Cottonmouths. Macon skated away with a dominating 5-1 victory. The FireAntz picked up a big 4-1 win over the Mississippi RiverKings in their last game.
ALL-TIME SERIES: The Mayhem are now 7-5-0 all-time against Fayetteville and are 2-0-0 this season against them.
SCOUTING THE ANTZ: Fayetteville is lead offensively by Tayler Thompson (3 goals, 10 assists, 13 points) and recently-acquired Jake Hauswirth (4 goals, 6 assists, 10 points). Expected in net is Sean Bonar, who has played 10 of the team's 12 games this season. Bonar is 5-7-0 with a 2.52 GAA and a .906 SV%. He saved 38 of 40 shots last Friday when these teams played. The FireAntz defense has helped their goalies so far this season, giving up the fewest shots in the league (27.08 per game).
ROSTER SHUFFLING: The Mayhem have had a lot of changes to their roster this week. Goaltender Garrett Bartus was loaned to the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL, forward Ryan Salkeld was signed to a second three-game tryout, and the team waived forward Vadim Guskov. On Thursday, defenseman Chris Joseph was activated from the IR. The last move came today when forward Collin MacDonald was loaned to the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.
LEADING THE PACK: With three points in his last time out, John Siemer has now stretched his league-leading point total to 20 (10 goals, 10 assists). Also, after saving 26 of the 27 shots he faced last Saturday, Jordan Ruby now leads the SPHL in goals against (1.79) and save percentage (.943).
A LOOK TO THE FUTURE: Tomorrow, these two teams will face off in Fayetteville, before the Mayhem return home to play the Pensacola Ice Flyers and the Mississippi RiverKings at home next Friday and Saturday.
