LAKEWOOD, NJ - The Lakewood BlueClaws end their season-long nine-game homestand with an impressive 2-0 win against the Greensboro Grasshoppers. Trevor May went six innings for the BlueClaws to pick up his first win of the season and Rob Roth and BJ Rosenberg helped in the shutout effort.

The BlueClaws (5-4) got on the board first in the fourth inning as Anthony Gose lead off with a walk and took off for second during the next at-bat with Travis d'Arnaud at the plate. On that pitch, d'Arnaud sent the ball screaming to center, and the ball hit of the glove of centerfielder Kevin Mattison as he dove to catch the ball. The ball got away from Mattison, allowing Gose to score, and d'Arnaud to advance to second.

The BlueClaws added a run of insurance in the seventh as Zach Collier singled to lead things off and advanced to third as Troy Hanzawa reached on a bunt single and took another base on a throwing error by third baseman Jake Smolinski. Collier then scored on a sacrifice fly by pinch-hitter Vladimir De Los Santos.

May (1-1) started the game and on the heels of a six-inning two-run performance, May goes another six innings and does not allow a run. He got help from his defense as Gose ended the third inning with an outfield assist getting Mattison at home, but he pitched very well. May allowed six hits, struck out six and walked just one. Rob Roth pitched a clean seventh and BJ Rosenberg worked his second consecutive six-out save for his team-leading 13th.

Kyle Kaminska started for the Grasshoppers (2-6) and lasted into the seventh and left with two on and no outs. However he was very effective, but takes the loss despite allowing just one earned run.

The BlueClaws end the homestand at 5-4 and are now a season-high 17 games over .500 overall. During the homestand the BlueClaws lost consecutive games on two occasions, but still end on the positive side of .500.

The BlueClaws will now hit the road for eight games with four games at first-place West Virginia and then four games at Kannapolis. The BlueClaws will send Justin De Fratus (2-1) to the mound for his second start of the season after coming from the bullpen and the Power will call on righty Gabriel Alvarado (4-6).
