Rodriguez and Sumoza Headed to Myrtle Beach

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves announce that first baseman Gerry Rodriguez and outfielder Luis Sumoza have been sent to Myrtle Beach of the Carolina League. Rodriguez was hitting .258 and led the team in homers (11) and RBI (42) while Sumoza was hitting .281 with two home runs and 20 RBI. Sumoza was also a member of the 2009 SAL All Star team.

Rome receives outfielder Adam Milligan and pitcher Tyrelle Harris from the Danville Braves of the Appalachian League. Milligan was a sixth round draft pick in 2008 while Harris was the Atlanta Braves 19th round pick in 2009. Milligan was hitting .439 with two home runs and ten RBI in nine games. Working from the bullpen, Harris boasts an ERA of 1.59 with one save in 5.2 innings for Danville.
